Copywriters write the words used in advertising campaigns, known as the 'copy'. A copy can include scripts to be read for TV and radio advertisements, or the text that appears in print and online advertisements, some copywriters may also write short songs, or jingles, for radio and TV. They work closely with other professionals in the advertising field, including graphic designers, multimedia developers, and market research analysts, to develop effective advertising campaigns that meet their client's requirements. Copywriters may think up the names of products, develop slogans and decide which features of a product should be emphasized in promotional material. Copywriters might work for a company or work as a freelancer. They are hired based on their ability to create compelling text that draws readers in, conveys a certain message, or entertains. A Copywriter provides creative ideas or concepts and can take the client's idea and give it substance, direction and content. Copywriter's work in a variety of areas like public relations, advertising, and marketing, audiovisual & broadcast material, speech writing wherein they work on feature articles, press kits, news releases, product updates, ads, sales letters, trade show displays, fliers, brochures, catalogs, postcards, radio ads, television commercials, video scripts, and audio scripts are used for fundraising, recruiting, training and teaching by organizations, the government, educators and businesses, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must possess at least 50% aggregate from a recognized institution in 12th, from any board PUC/CBSE/ICSE/ISC, etc. However, the cut-off margin varies with the selection process of different colleges.
  • A Bachelor's degree in any field can be beneficial, but a degree in English and Communication can provide a more effective reach in helping you connect with your clients. There are no entrance exams conducted to validate the performance for Copywriting.
  • One must acquire a degree/diploma or certification in a recognized establishment to become a Copywriter. This is a basic qualification you must require to enroll in this line of work.
  • Masters in any field relevant to Copy Writing can also prove to be helpful while looking for a higher degree and extensive learning.

Tasks to perform

  • Create competitive content by obtaining information from SMEs, crafting a story/narrative that aligns with the value-selling strategy, deciding on the appropriate form factor, and shepherding the project throughout development, clearances, and publishing.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Enablement Content team to find areas where we may enhance our comparative approach. Create projects to fill up the gaps.
  • Set timelines with the Business Development Content director and achieve or exceed them when delivering to the Sales organisation.
  • Assist with the administration and moderation of onsite dynamic comment sections and internet forums.
  • To create concepts and illustrations, use graphics processing and media production software.

Knowledge required

  • Media Production — Understanding of media creation, interaction, and distribution strategies and methodologies is required in telecommunications and entertainment.
  • Media and Marketing — Familiarity of media creation, engagement, and distribution strategies and methodologies is required for communication systems and multimedia. Printed, auditory, and electronic media are all examples of various ways to inform and amuse.
  • Finance and Management – Understanding of corporate governance concepts and procedures, as well as capital industry, finance, and business information monitoring and interpretation.
