Career as an Automobile Engineer
Automobile Engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with designing, developing, manufacturing, testing and repairing and servicing automobiles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters etc. & the related sub engineering systems. For the perfect blend of manufacturing and designing automobiles, Automobile Engineering uses the features of different elements of Engineering such as mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety engineering. Automotive or Automobile engineers design the systems and mechanisms of cars. These professionals ensure that automotive designs and systems conform to budgeted quality and cost specifications. Similar to other types of mechanical engineers, automotive engineers analyze potential problems in design and work to solve those problems, design and retest prototypes of cars and car parts, and oversee the manufacturing of automotive. Computers are a big part of how automotive engineers do their jobs. Automobile Engineers will work on the aesthetics and technical performance of these vehicles and, increasingly, the electronics and software involved with modern vehicles. Automobile Engineers are mainly classified into three streams like Product or Design Engineers, Development Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers. Product Engineers or Design Engineers are those who deal with the designing and testing of the components and systems of automobiles. They design and test each part of the visualized automobile, seeing that it meets all requirements, performs as required, that the material meets desired durability, and so on. Duties of Automobile Engineer includes to assessing project requirements, agreeing and negotiating project budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers, developing and implementing test procedures and building prototypes of components to carry out tests on, organizing and carrying out tests. They interpret and analyze results and data, source vehicle components and select the best materials to use. They also providing technical advice and answering queries from clients. They use specialist computer modeling software to produce designs.
