Career as a Robotics Engineer

Robotics engineering is a field of engineering which centers on building machines that replicate human actions. A robotics engineer creates these applications or autonomous machines (aka robots) for industries such as mining, manufacturing, automotive, services, and more. Often, the goal is to program machines to do repetitive, hazardous, or unhealthy jobs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must possess at least 50% aggregate from a recognized institution in 12th, from any board PUC/CBSE/ICSE/ISC, etc. However, the cut-off margin varies with the selection process of different colleges.
  • Should procure a valid score in entrance exams such as JEE-MAINS/CET/VITEEE/JEE-Advanced, etc. Different colleges offer their entrance exams if you don’t have a satisfactory score in JEE or other competitive exams – colleges like NMIMS, Symbiosis International University, XUB, Andhra University, LPU, etc. Every state offers its entrance exam as well.
  • One must earn a degree in B.Sc/B.Tech or a Diploma to become a Robotics Engineer. This is a basic qualification you must require to enroll in this line of work.
  • An M.Tech in Robotics Engineering can also prove to be helpful while looking for a higher degree and better learning.
  • Design or program robotics systems for environmental clean-up applications to minimize human exposure to toxic or hazardous materials or to improve the quality or speed of clean-up operations.
  • Create robotics solutions for renewable commodity producers, such as wind generators or solar cells, to maximize manufacturing time, minimize pollution, or improve efficiency.
  • Create completely computerized programs to enhance production capacity or accuracy in elevated operations like integrated RNA analysis or processing, transferring, or piling processing materials.
  • Create tools to power robotic technology for use in military defense or production.
  • Initiate computational technology development to develop new robotic technologies or increase device functionality.
  • Engineering and Design — Understanding the required materials, techniques, and equipment used in the development or renovation of homes, vehicles, and other infrastructures such as streets and highways.
  • Apprehension of Physics — Comprehending liquid, substance, and environmental mechanics, as well as structural, electronic, nuclear, and molecular systems and processes, involves knowledge and forecasting of basic phenomena, rules, and their interconnections.
  • Development and Manufacturing — Comprehension of raw materials, production methods, quality management, prices, and other strategies to optimize the successful produce and delivery of products.
  • Comprehension in English — Understanding the form and substance of the English language and vocabulary, including word sense and pronunciation, writing rules, and word usage.
  • Computer Application — Understanding the prospects and functioning of circuit boards, processing units, circuits, electrical devices, computer equipment, plus applications and programming.
  • Study Procedures — Techniques and approaches devised for identifying and implementing preparation methods and processes that are suitable for the case when discovering or introducing new items.
  • Effective Attention — Involves paying complete awareness to what others are doing, using the time to consider the arguments presented, providing feedback as needed, and not disrupting at inconvenient moments.
  • Control Systems Evaluation — Incorporates recognizing metrics or indices of system success as well as the steps required to enhance or modify effectiveness concerning the system's objectives.
  • Analytical perception — Implies the use of intuition and analysis to assess the positives and disadvantages of various explanations, assumptions, or responses to situations.
  • Inventory Management — Involves conducting regular inspection of facilities and deciding the type of replacement that is deemed necessary.

Once you procure the required qualifications for becoming a Robotics Engineer, a myriad of options are open to you. There are multiple projects you can undertake throughout this line of work, and there are many other fields you can branch out to as well.

  • Robotics Technician: A Robotics Technician conducts functions close to a robotics engineer, except this person will be more centered on analyzing and restoring robotics frameworks while assisting robotics engineers in the development and construction of them. They usually spend an enormous amount of time dealing with consumers to guarantee that the machines are working well, typically operating as a translator between the consumers and the robotics engineers so she would be deeply educated about the robotics systems that she worked on.
  • Automotive Engineers: Automotive engineers model and upgrade automotive structures. Includes using Auto cad to formulate ideas, analyzing elements using various approaches and concepts, and working with coworkers on programs. Automotive engineers are very often charged with designing innovative approaches to upgrade electronic pieces of equipment, circuits, vehicle applications, and automobile parts. This job is usually focused in an office, although fieldwork could be needed for additional perspective. Automotive engineers function alone half of the time, as duties are assigned, often as part of a team on plan review and more collective tasks.
  • Systems Engineer: A Systems Engineer blends technical and operations knowledge. A Network Engineer collaborates with other teams to control and improve a corporation's network. A Systems Engineer improves workforce efficiency by designing and applying system applications and reviewing data to enhance current ones. A Systems Engineer is responsible for managing different facets of a project, the bulk of which are technical problems such as design and device mechanics. They typically start as an engineer in one of the many sectors, and as they accumulate business experience, they use their capacity to conceptualize the larger picture to ascend to the rank of Systems Engineer.
  • Project Manager: A Project manager must ensure a smooth transition from product release to production. Plant managers can gain visibility into progress on upcoming production runs and new introductions. This gives plant managers a more accurate prediction of product completion/delivery and helps to make better resource allocation decisions. Besides, manufacturing process management (MPM) capabilities in PLM provide personnel with direct access to all product and component records. This can help to eliminate inventory surplus and significantly reduce costs.
  • Marketing Automation Manager: A Marketing Automation Manager's function is to handle technology that facilitates operational business procedures and enhances operations, as well as to set up evaluation tools that provide meaningful insights. The Marketing Technology Manager aims to use automation to boost organizational business and generate the business model. To create a brand and maximize leads, they mix planning, innovation, and technological skills. The Marketing Automation Manager should be able to see how automating a program will support an organization. They must also set a target and then use technologies to help them accomplish it quicker and more effectively than before.
