Automotive engineering, besides Automotive Engineering and maritime technology, is a branch of automotive design, integrating elements of structural, electrical, computer, operating systems and systems design related to the development, production and service of motorcycles, vehicles and railcars and their design capacity subsystems. It also entails the alteration of equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must possess at least 50% aggregate from a recognized institution in 12th, from any board PUC/CBSE/ICSE/ISC, etc. However, the cut-off margin varies with the selection process of different colleges. Only a background in science is viable.
• Should procure a valid score in entrance exams such as JEE-MAINS/CET/VITEEE/JEE-Advanced, etc. Different colleges offer their own entrance exams if you don’t have a satisfactory score in JEE or other competitive exams – colleges like NMIMS, Symbiosis International University, XUB, Andhra University, LPU, etc.
• To become an Automotive Engineer, one must earn a degree in BE/B.Tech or a diploma. These are the basic qualifications you will require.
• An M.Tech in Automotive Engineering can also prove to be helpful while looking for a higher degree and better learning.

Tasks to perform

• Crafting different alternatives for automotive parts, including free-valve piston engine or dual-clutch motors or alternative air-conditioning systems, to significantly raise fuel economy.
• Develop communications systems or formulas for uses such as automotive resource management, pollution maintenance, or improved operating protection or product quality.
• Development or study of vehicle systems in fields such as aerodynamic efficiency, alternative fuels, build quality, hybrid control, braking, engines, steering, tuning, safety or prognostics.
• Study or incorporate new car innovations including alternative energy sources, battery or hybrid vehicles or smaller or more energy productive automobiles.
• Review existing compositions, hold meetings or seminars, or speak to peers to keep up-to-date on emerging automotive technologies or promotional schemes.

• Computer Application – Well versed in using computers and Electronics Experience, involving software and coding, of integrated circuits, CPUs, sensors, electrical devices, and computer equipment.
• Technology and Innovation — Practical application of science and technology in engineering. This involves the application to the design and manufacture of different products and services of principles, methods, processes, and equipment.
• Development and Collection — Accumulating natural resources, production methods, quality management, prices and other strategies for optimizing the productive produce and delivery of products.
• Chemical dexterity — Understanding chemical structure, configuration, and related properties, as well as the chemical reactions and transitions they undergo. This involves the application of chemicals and their experiences, signs of risk, techniques of processing, and methods of disposal.
• Apprehension of Physics — Awareness and forecasting of physical concepts, laws, their multiple correlations, and methods for interpreting fluid, substance, and atmospheric mechanics, and hydraulic, electronic, nuclear, and micro systems and practices.
