An architect is a client-appointed individual who designs a facility following the philosophy of design and customer-specified specifications.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must possess at least 50% aggregate from a recognized institution in 12th, from any board PUC/CBSE/ICSE/ISC, etc. However, the cut-off margin varies with the selection process of different colleges. Only a background in science is viable.
  • Should procure a valid score in entrance exams such as JEE-MAINS/NATA/CEED/JEE-Advanced, etc. Different colleges offer their entrance exams if you don’t have a satisfactory score in JEE or other competitive exams – colleges like NMIMS, Symbiosis International University, XUB, Andhra University, LPU, etc.
  • To become an Architect, one must earn a degree in BE/B.Tech or a diploma. These are the basic qualifications you will require.
  • An M.Tech in Architecture can also prove to be helpful while looking for a higher degree and better learning.

Tasks to perform

  • Coordination and general integration of technical tasks in architectural or engineering projects should be handled.
  • Guiding, supervising, or authorizing changes in project design.
  • Executing operations, such as reviewing or composing reports, the approval of spending, the enforcement of laws, or the procurement of materials or providing necessary services.
  • Assess the environmental effects of the practices of engineering, architecture, or research and development.
  • Recognize environmental concerns or opportunities associated with the global technologies being created and introduced.
  • Initiate broad outlines given by top management, define scientific or technological objectives.
  • Clarify project requirements or processes, speak with management, manufacturing, or marketing workers.

Knowledge required

  • Design and Establishment — Recognition of the materials, techniques, and instruments used in building or restoring homes, factories, as well as other structures, such as roads, highways, bridges, etc.
  • Incorporation and Governance — Utilizing concepts of business administration associated with tactical planning, distribution of capital, optimization of human resources, leadership strategies, methods of production, and organization of resources and manpower.
  • Service – Awareness of standards and procedures for the provision of client and consumer expenses. Customer and Personal Support. This comprises evaluating customer expectations, meeting service quality requirements, and consumer satisfaction assessment.
  • Apprehension of Physics — Predictive analytics of basic phenomena, laws, their interactions, and fluid, substance, and air mechanics interpretation techniques, and mechanical, electric, atomic, and subatomic structures and processes understanding.
  • Science and Engineering — Utilizing practical methods of applying information and technology in engineering. This involves the application to the design and manufacture of different products and services of principles, methods, processes, and equipment.

  • Sensitivity of problem — Stating an indication or the likelihood of a problem. It does not require fixing the dilemma, just realizing that there is a concern.

  • Civil Project Manager: Often referred to as construction project managers, civil project managers are mainly responsible for monitoring the construction of large-scale construction projects, such as industrial buildings, roadways, and bridges. They are interested in the fields of pre-planning, budgeting, distribution of money, negotiation of contracts, and organization of staff.
  • Electrical Engineering Manager: Electrical Engineering Managers are involved in the development of strategic electrical plans through the analysis of operational plans; the study of current conditions; the assessment of needs to meet operational plans; the mapping of solutions; the updating and adjustment of specifications and solutions; the preparation of cost and expenditure estimates.
  • Process Engineering Manager: A team responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes, machinery, or plants is directed by the Process Engineering Manager. To be a Manager of Process Engineering ensures constant process, expense, quality, and performance improvement. They prioritize handling and solving technical problems with all engineering programs.
  • Engineering Director: Engineering directors are pragmatic, technical, and creative. They can take down and translate complex data sets almost as easily as they can direct a whole group of engineers, and they excel in developing new systems while complying with documented methods at the same time.
  • Mechanical Engineering manager: Mechanical engineering managers are responsible for the administration, covering both operational and technological aspects, of the mechanical engineering department. They often work under the general guidance of a field engineer on working groups and as a leader of the project.
