Retail Bankers are employed by major high street banks to undertake the strategic and day-to-day management of their branches. Retail Bankers act in a customer service role, advising on and assisting with services such as setting up savings accounts, authorizing loans and moving money. Retail Banking concerns itself with helping customers to handle their cash, providing a variety of financial products and handling all of their transactions. Retail Bankers job responsibilities typically includes to recruiting, training, supervising and appraising banking staff, discussing the financial requirements of, and providing financial advice to clients, assessing and reviewing financial circumstances, processing payments and withdrawals, authorizing and evaluating overdrafts and loans. They also tend to develop a network of local business contacts, promoting the bank's services, managing budgets and meeting targets, maintaining statistical and financial records and dealing with complaints.

  • Retail Bankers duties are performed in an office environment in a professional business setting. Position requires travel when making business development calls, community events/meetings, internal meetings/training and to banking centers.
