Civil engineers are responsible for much more than the design of buildings and bridges. They design commercial airliners and aircraft structures for the aerospace sector. They're used in the automobile industry to calculate a chassis' load-carrying capability and improve bumper and door collision resilience. They operate in the shipyard business, the power sector, and a variety of other businesses that require built infrastructure.
